Michigan Department of Health & Human Services - Quarantining Guidance
Posted September 9, 2021
Hancock Parents and Guardians,
As we start of this 2021-22 school year, we will be executing most of the COVID-19 mitigation measures successfully implemented the last school year. They include widespread cleaning (including during the day) with child safe cleansers, increased and strategically targeted circulation of fresh outside air into all our buildings, a new air purification system installed and operating in all our buildings, and other valued mitigation protocols. The change from last years strategy is that facial coverings will be a choice to wear while in school during the 2021-22 school year.
We successfully executed these strategies last year and adopted & implemented current mitigation strategies for our many summer programs, which hosted students from many area districts, without any spread of COVID-19 inside our buildings.
We are confident that our stratgies provide a level of mitigations that creates a healthy environment for our students and staff, yet still focuses our energy and efforts on academic and personal growth in each of our students. We will continue to monitor the situation and make improvements in mitigation strategies as needed.
