Hancock Middle School Named Among 2026 Best Middle Schools by U.S. News & World Report

Hancock, MI — October 30, 2025 — Hancock Middle School has earned a place among the 2026 Best Middle Schools in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report. This honor recognizes schools that demonstrate outstanding student achievement and strong academic outcomes across key areas of learning.

U.S. News & World Report evaluated over 25,000 public middle schools nationwide, analyzing state assessment performance and how effectively schools serve their students in core subjects such as mathematics and reading. Schools named to the Best list achieved results that exceeded expectations based on their student populations.

“We are extremely proud of our students, staff, and families for this national recognition,” said Mollie Trewartha, Principal of Hancock Middle & High School. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our teachers and the hard work our students put in every day.
